Entering the maximum number of characters defined by CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE into the console and hitting enter afterwards, causes a hang in the system because CONFIG_SYS_PBSIZE is not capable of storing the extra characters of the error message: "Unknown command '' - try 'help'". Use the default CONFIG_SYS_PBSIZE definition from config_fallbacks.h to solve this problem. Signed-off-by:

Add option to set shell prompt string from menuconfig and migrate boards globally. The migration is done as follows: - Boards that explicitly and unconditionally set CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT had the entry moved to their defconfig files. - Boards that defined some kind of #ifdef logic which selects the CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT (for example qemu-mips) got an #undef CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT right before the #ifdef logic and were left alone. - This change forces CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT to be a per board decision, and thus CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT was removed from all <soc>_common.h and <arch>_common.h files. This results in a streamlined default value across platforms, and includes the following files: spear-common, sunxi-common, mv-common, ti_armv7_common, tegra-common, at91-sama5_common, and zynq-common. - Boards that relied on <arch/soc>_common.h values of CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT were not updated in their respective defconfig files under the assumption that since they did not explicitly define a value, they're fine with whatever the default is. - On the other hand, boards that relied on a value defined in some <boards>_common.h file such as woodburn_common, rpi-common, bur_am335x_common, ls2085a_common, siemens_am33x_common, and omap3_evm_common, had their values moved to the respective defconfig files. - The define V_PROMPT was removed, since it is not used anywhere except for assigning a value for CONFIG_SYS_PROMPT. Some archs/boards specify their own default by pre-defining the config which causes the Kconfig system to mix up the order of the configs in the defconfigs... This will cause merge pain if allowed to proliferate. Remove the configs that behave this way from the archs. A few configs still remain, but that is because they only exist as defaults and do not have a proper Kconfig entry. Those appear to be: SPIFLASH DISPLAY_BOARDINFO Signed-off-by:

For ARM systems, before ELF relocation was introduced, CONFIG_SKIP_RELOCATE_UBOOT coul be used to prevent *COPYING* the U-Boot image from whereever it was loaded to it's link address (CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE). The name was badly chosen, as no relocation was performed at all, it was just a memcpy(). With ELF relocation, this does not work like that any more, and related boards need to be fixed anyway. So don't keep this relict any longer. Signed-off-by:

CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE has always been just a bad workarond for not being able to use "sizeof(struct global_data)" in assembler files. Recent experience has shown that manual synchronization is not reliable enough. This patch renames CONFIG_SYS_GBL_DATA_SIZE into GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE which gets automatically generated by the asm-offsets tool. In the result, all definitions of this value can be deleted from the board config files. We have to make sure that all files that reference such data include the new <asm-offsets.h> file. No other changes have been done yet, but it is obvious that similar changes / simplifications can be done for other, related macro definitions as well. Signed-off-by:
